Flagstaff Elopement

December 06, 2019 by Molly Donovan

The most important part of planning a wedding, is making sure that the day is exactly what YOU want. It is easy to become overwhelmed with opinions of loved-ones, traditions, trends, and the constant influence of social media. When it is all over, weddings are about the couple getting married, and they should be uniquely them.

For some couples, this means eloping in a stunning destination. When I partnered with Leah and David John, our goal was to create a dreamy, moody, fairytale-like elopement in the mountains of Arizona. We worked with Gebriel and Ryne Photography to capture the day. The results were breathtaking. Every moment was personal, emotional, and full of their love.

When I began designing this elopement, I wanted the details to be organic and romantic—blending seamlessly with the natural beauty around us.

Leah and David John met us in the woods. They got ready separately under the shade of the aspen trees. Leah wore a beautiful crocheted gown and high ponytail with a velvet cider-colored ribbon. Her bridal look was paired with wild and unruly blooms. The moments leading up to the couple’s first look were calm and serene.

David John wore a classic navy suit adorned with a dried flower boutonniere.

Leah and David John’s first look was framed by the mountains in Lockett Meadow, just outside of Flagstaff, AZ. The beautiful landscaped framed the perfect intimate moment between the bride and groom.

The couple spent the moments after laughing, playing, and giving sweet kisses.

As the sun began to dip behind the mountains, the two moved to a clearing among the pine trees and shared personal, heartfelt vows. A close friend preformed a simple ceremony.

Leah and David John celebrated their marriage with more photographs and a picnic under the trees.

The entirety of this day was veiled in love. Although an elopement isn’t for everyone, for these two, it was perfect. The romance and emotion was palpable. I will forever cherish being able to plan this day.
